~The Blog Book~

When I started this blog back in July of 2010 I really wasn't sure what I really wanted my blog to be other than a way for me to look back on the simple memories of life. So that is what I did. I just simply wrote. I wrote about what was going on in our daily lives, threw in some pics, some recipes, the occasional rant, and just kept writing. I got a little burned out in October 2011 and decided that if it wasn't fun anymore, I wasn't going to do it. So, I closed up shop. I decided to print my blog up to that point to have as a "baby book" for Luci. I set everything up, sent it in for printing, and never expected that it would make such an impact on me.

On December 12th, the book came in. I opened it up and started crying. It was like all of my writing, even when I really didn't feel like doing it, had paid off. I read and reread the book. I couldn't believe how quickly that I had even forgotten some of things of the last year and a half. I couldn't believe how much Luci had grown. I couldn't believe that all 250 pages I had written. Yes, there were mistakes in my typing and mistakes in my spelling...but I had wrote it and wrote it with love.

I was so proud of my work that I started showing my friends and family. Every person I showed was so encouraging and loved that I had put our family history down on paper for Luci. For us. It made it all worth it.

When Luci turns a certain age (when I know she will appreciate them!) , I am going to give her these books. Yes, I said books. How can I stop now?! I am continuing on! I plan to print again at the end of the year.

So I know I have said this before...but I don't write this blog for anyone else but us. It is about our family and our lives. This is a way for me to remember these special everyday moments in our lives. I have a feeling that the big moments in life will stick out for a while such as major holidays, birthdays, etc., but it's those small, everyday moments that eventually will fade from memory... It is our hope that this blog, our blog, will help us keep those memories near and dear to our hearts!
