My sweet Ellie finally arrived!!!! Stats: 2/22/11, 4:03am, 8lbs 6oz, 20 in!! She is an absolute little cupcake I could love on all day long!!!!!
Our precious Colin arrived a couple of weeks ago and I don't believe I put his stats up yet... 2/7/11, 10:02am, 8lbs 7oz, 20 in!!! He is so incredibly handsome and soft!! I just loved holding him and cannot wait until we see him again!!!!
Finally went to the ENT...to make a long story short...I have several structural issues in my sinuses...we are trying a few more things to see if they work. I go back in 4 weeks...if no improvement, I will have surgery. Oh and randomly unbeknownst to me, I have TMJ syndrome. I had assumed all of the trouble I was having in my jaw, neck, and ears was related to my sinuses...nope, it wasn't!! I will tackle that battle next week!
Dad turns 60 this Sunday!! We are celebrating all weekend in Paris!!! Whoo hoo!!!
We are heading to D.C. early this summer! Mitch has a conference there and so Luci and I decided to tag along! Mom is going too!! Although I'm very apprehensive about touring D.C. with a 2 year old...yikes!
That is all for now!!!! Happy Thursday!!!

Busy, Busy Minnick's!!!
This weekend we were very busy!!!! Friday night we bought groceries and ran a few errands. Saturday, we woke up early, cleaned the house, did a million loads of laundry, took Luci to the Hoskyn's, and Mitch and I went to see our good friend Katie get hitched!!! The wedding was beautiful and she was a gorgeous bride!!!!! After the wedding, we hosted our good friends, the McCormicks's, who had traveled from San Antonio to visit!!!! We were soooooo excited to see them and catch up!! We were a little disappointed that we didn't get to see their two girls, but that makes even more of a reason for us to go visit them!!!! On Sunday, I ended up having to work an event that my job hosts every February. Not exactly fun, but something that I had to do. After work and dinner, we played outside with Luci for a bit and then got her ready for the bed! Whoo...it was a busy, but fun weekend!!!
Playing outside!
Trying to beat Daddy in a game of soccer!!!
Something is very funny!!!
Saturday naps are spent in Daddy's arms...such a Daddy's girl!!!
She only looks innocent... :-)
Jill, Luci, and I! (Let me just mention that Jill was still in wedding attire and I had changed...so yes, she looks glamorous and I look...um...comfy and Luci was ready for bed! lol!!!)

Flowers, Cookie Cake, and "Boons"
I love Valentine's day...mainly because I have the BEST two Valentines in the world...my awesome hubs, Mitch, and my sweetheart, Luci!!!! We exchanged Valentine gifts on Saturday...I got beautiful flowers, a gigantic cookie cake, and a purse (that I had previously picked out!!) Luci and I got Mitch two baseball books and an assortment of candy, nuts, and a Valentine card decorated by Luci! Luci got a bag of goodies, coloring books, and a lady bug! We also got her a few balloons at her daycare on Valentine's day. Luci LOVES balloons!! She begs for them every time we go to Wal-Mart, so Mitch and I were very anxious to give them to her on Valentine's day!! She loved her "boons"!!!

Working over her new "boons"!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

~Snowcation Number 5~
Yesterday was our 5th snow day!! The snow was absolutely gorgeous!!!! We got 4-5 inches at our house! I spent most of the day fighting off a horrible sinus headache. I got the results of my CT scan and my doctor referred me to an ENT to discuss sinus surgery. I see him in the next 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure surgery in inevitable because my face is starting to look like a marshmallow. Why you ask? Well, my sinuses are so infected that it is causing the tissue in my cheeks and nose to swell. No one seems extremely concerned (except me because who wants to look like a marshmallow) because I have been on so many antibiotics and steroids. Anyways, back to our snowcation number 5...
Rocking her baby!! She is such a good little Mommy!!

Just playing in her other rocking chair!

Going for a ride on her horse!

I've got this driving thing down!

Just taking a quick walk in the snow at Daddy's office!

Obviously not impressed with the 5 inches of snow! Ha!

She'll just check out the car instead!

Update from the Jumbled post:
Granny has better days and worse days...still holding on...
We welcomed Baby Colin into the family on Monday weighing in at 8lbs 7oz!!! Luci can not wait to meet her new cousin and Mitch and I can't wait to meet our precious nephew!!!! He looks just like his older sis! We hope to go see them maybe this weekend (pending weather and possible Ellie's arrival)!!

Jumbled
It took me a while to try to figure out a title for this post...everything is so jumbled in my head right now...so this post could be hard to follow...sorry.
Where to start?
Friday morning just as it starts to heavily snow while I am at work, mom calls me to let me know that they are taking Granny (my dad's mom) to the hospital and it looks like this is the end. So, I am feverishsly trying to tackle my work because a. I only worked 2 days last week due to ice/snow, b. I knew it was only a matter of minutes/hours before they sent us home again due to ice/snow, c. this is my absolute BUSIEST time of the year, and d. now my Granny is not doing well. Oh, did I mention that my mom and Nana were already in Fort Smith staying with Luci because she had developed a nasty cough? Oh yeah, and my sister...she is due any day now to have Ellie...Mitch's sis is going in tomorrow to have our precious nephew (name: TBD), and oh, that sinus thing I've been whining and complaining about...still not better. I still don't know anything from my CT scan yet because the offices were closed due to all of the winter weather. My face literally feels like it could explode at any second. Oh, and let's bring on another 8 inches of snow that we are supposed to get on Wed... So, yes...I am a little jumbled right now. Down, but not out. Prayers would be much appreciated. Our family is struggling a little right now. We have a precious life leaving us very soon...but two more coming in very soon.

Mitch and I had previously paid for Jeremy Camp concert tickets & even though my heart wasn't really into going...I knew we needed a break (plus we spent the money already) from everything ...so we had a date night with the Ground's!

Jeremy was absolutely awesome, but I had a pretty miserable time at the concert and ended up leaving before the last two songs. There were ppl sitting behind us that apparently thought this was a Miley Cyrus concert and let their 10 year old girls scream ear piercing squeals into our ears...the.entire.time. Ugh. I tried to have a better attitude, but my heart just wasn't into it.
Ok, so this post has lots of whining and I'm sorry!!! So, I'll leave on a happy note!!! Here are some pics of Luci from this weekend!!!!
Showing off her new boots!!

Play Dough!!!

You Never Let Go- Jeremy Camp
Even though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I'm caught in the middle
Of the storms of this life
I won't turn back, I know You are near
And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
And I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We'll live to know You here on the earth
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
Yes, I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

We're Too Fancy for Swiss Miss!!
So, back to back snow days!! Whoo hoo!!! Although with each day the challenge to keep Luci entertained was a bit greater! Weekends are no prob because we always have tons of things to do, but when the weather is sooo cold it makes it tough to do lots of things just staying indoors...and we weren't exactly prepared! Let's just say we did lots of cleaning (Luci loves to help!), coloring, and playing kitchen!!

Apparently Luci thinks that there are better organizing options for the bottled water...

Last night, Kerri came over for some gluten free spaghetti and hot cocoa!! Now, since Kerri has her gluten AND lactose intolerances it can always be a wee bit of a challenge to enjoy certain things...one being hot cocoa...however, this was not the case for her last night! Kerri insisted on us having hot cocoa (I mean how can you not on snow days?!!) and the only cocoa that Wal-Mart sold that was milk-free to begin with was the ever fancy Ghiradelli chocolate kind! Talk about some expensive hot cocoa!!! It was delish though!! She made it for us with soy milk and it was definitely good! Luci had fun helping! Thanks for the hot cocoa Kerri!!!
Mixing up the cocoa!!!
Kerri brought over yummy suckers too!!!
Maybe if I hide in here I won't have to go to bed!!!

Ice Day 2011 and Our Wild Woman
So, we had yet another "snow" (ice) day off of work! I'm not complaining in the least bit, but it was quite an interesting day here in the Minnick household...
We started off the morning by making fabulous peanut butter pancakes...to which Luci turned her nose up and instead insisted on cheerios and applesauce...really???

Mitch and I started to do some heavy duty cleaning...I was polishing bedroom furniture and he was cleaning ceiling fans. I guess one of us should have kept a closer eye on Luci because the next thing I knew we were digging clean diapers out of the trash can, cleaning up baby shampoo from the carpet and wiping tea off of the couch...my entire glass of tea.
So, the cleaning stopped and we came up with more distractions for the day...
We made beer bread...

We emptied the dishwasher...

We painted nails...

We colored...
She napped...
We even dug out her lion jacket that my boss gave to her.

She didn't want to take it off...So, she ended up wearing it out when we went to Wal-Mart for some milk and ice cream.(Don't judge me, I'm on steroids for my sinus infections and could eat off my arm right now!)

All in all, a fun day, but boy she is a wild woman when she is cooped up all day!!!
Oh and btw, she is soooo ready to potty train...if she only wanted to...
All day long she would try to take off her pants and bring us a diaper when she was wet, but every time I asked her about the potty she whined, cried, and said no. Fun times ahead!
