5 Years

Mitch and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on Saturday!!

We started celebrating last weekend during Memorial Day Weekend. We were in Branson on Friday and Saturday night, but we had made plans with my parents for Luci to stay up there with them, and Mitch and I were heading to Fayetteville for a night to watch a Naturals vs Roughriders game and visit the new Crystal Bridges museum on Monday. Well, we had some car trouble on the way to Fayetteville (thankfully everything is all fixed/replaced now!) so we had to skip out on Crystal Bridges.

We stayed at a really neat Inn that was once an Old Mill! We sported our Rangers gear to the game since the Roughriders are the Rangers "farm team". No Naturals for us that game! Mitch had to stay true to his Rangers! We were like 2 of maybe 10 Roughrider fans...and they lost...but we still had a good time!! Oh, and the Tulsa Drillers (who used to be the affiliate for the Rangers) moved to Frisco (Roughriders) and Mitch grew up watching the Drillers...so there was no way he was letting us get by without cheering for the Roughriders! Lol!

Yesterday (our actual anniversary day), we spent the day eating cake and just hanging out! I had ordered a duplicate cake of  our 2nd layer of our actual wedding cake from the original baker and surprised Mitch with it! The color wasn't exactly the same as our wedding cake...but it was still pretty...and very delicious!!!

In the afternoon we had plans to go swimming at Fianna with Mark and Quinn, but the pool was closed for a private party so we headed to the Aquatic Park for a few hours!!

After the Aquatic Park, we came back home and just decided to make our own anniversary dinner instead of going out! Mitch grilled us steaks and I made homemade cheesy scalloped potatoes, green beans, and tomatoes!! Yum!! We both agreed this was so much better than eating out!!!

Mitch and I decided to give each other a gift together. Since the 5th year gift is wood, we planted a new tree in our front yard! Our tree that was there when we moved in had died, so we thought this was the perfect way to commemorate our 5th Anniversary!!!

We had such a nice week celebrating and we are looking forward to the next 75+ years together!!!

Oh I wonder what God was thinking

When he created you

I wonder if he

knew everything I would need

Because he made all my dreams come true

When God made you he must of been thinking about me
