We had such a fun weekend!!! Friday night Mitch and I were so exhausted from such a full week that we didn't even have the energy to go out for dinner...I made a huge, scrumptious dinner of cold cereal!! After that we went and visited the Hoskyn's and Luci finally got her turn at holding Ellie!! She was all smiles!!!
Luci woke us up bright and early on Saturday so we decided to get ready and run some errands. We went to Target, Old Navy, and Home Depot. After a quick lunch, Luci went down for a nap while Mitch and I did some odds and ends around the house. After she woke up from her nap, she was greeted by her MiMi and PePaw who drove up to spend the afternoon with their grandkids! All 9 of us went to the park to play!!! The kids (well, Ellie slept, but I think she enjoyed herself!) had a blast running around and playing!!! After we came back to our house to clean up a bit, we all went to Pocola to eat at a catfish restaurant! It was super delicious!! I am not big on fish (you won't catch me eating anything but chicken at Red Lobster), but this Southern Gal can put away the catfish!! Having worked at a restaurant in my hometown for 3 1/2 years that still to this day serves some of the best catfish around, I can definitely say I am picky when it comes to my catfish. Anyways, back to our Saturday... After driving home, we had to make the unavoidable weekly trip to Wal-Mart (yuk) and then we were home for the evening! Busy, Busy Saturday!
Luci woke us up again bright and early on Sunday...no sleeping in for us this weekend!! We went to church and then out to eat at The Outback. After we came home, I went to get a pedi with my friend Kristal! I love relaxing pedi's with good friends!!! After that, the rest of the afternoon was spent playing with Luci, doing laundry, and squeezing in a movie! We had pizza for dinner and had a picnic in the living room!! Luci didn't quite understand and kept pointing to her chair in the kitchen! Eating dinner in front of the TV reminded Mitch and I of our days before parenthood...I'm pretty sure the only time we ever ate at a table was in a restaurant...Now, eating together as a family at the table is a nightly routine...and a very important one to us! Although, I think the living room picnic was fun...we might make that a every now and then occurrence!
I love weekends with my little family...We are so thankful that God chose us to be Luci's parents! We sure do love our little girl!
