Easter Weekend-Eggs, Food, and Family!!!!!

The Minnick's had a soggy, but great Easter weekend!! We had a looonng weekend so let's start with Thursday.

Thursday- Luci had an egg hunt at her school. I decided to go to take pics and watch her. BIG mistake. Apparently she was in a mood and wanted me to hold her the entire time (which I wouldn't do). She basically cried the entire time I was there and made me feel terrible for subjecting her teachers and class to that. Lesson learned. I was still able to snap a few pics in between tears.

Friday- Luci's daycare was closed on Good Friday as was Mitch's work, so I decided to take off of work and we went to Broken Arrow to spend time with Mitch's family!!! We had the best time catching up and spending time with all of the kiddos!!

Saturday- On Saturday we went to Paris for the Community Easter Egg Hunt and to spend the night and Easter Sunday with my folks. Before we left for Paris, the Easter Bunny visted our house!!!!

It started drizzling when we arrived at the hunt, but nothing major. We put Luci in her rain slicker and swim shoes and headed out! The entire event was great and well planned!! It was so great seeing the community that I'm from come together to make this event so special! I'll leave my comments to myself about the adults who feel the need to fill up their children's Easter baskets to the brim with eggs for them while my toddler slowly trudged through the grass searching for eggs. We helped Luci locate her eggs, pushed back the grass, and let her pick them up and put them in her basket! She loved it! That's what it is all about...letting HER enjoy the hunt and HER take pride in finding her eggs. She may have only got 8, but she put those in there herself! We spent the rest of Saturday hanging out at my parent's house and relaxing!

Sunday- We went to my home town church for Easter services! It was nice getting to see everyone. After church, we had a delicious Easter lunch with Turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, deviled eggs, mac n cheese, salad, carrots, angel food cake and strawberries!!! Yum Yum!!!! Mom also spoiled us with lots and lots of candy!!! I love going home to eat!!! After afternoon naps, we headed back home!!!! We had such a great Easter weekend!!!! I hope everyone truly remembers that the biggest gift we were ever given is the reason we celebrate Easter!!!
