Work Shower for Emmi

Some lovely ladies I work with hosted a shower for Emmi and I this past Friday! It was so beautiful and so much fun! Luci has been obsessed with talking about baby showers lately, so Mitch and I took her out of school so she could attend! First, we had a lunch date! It is a rare treat that we get to eat lunch with our sweet girl during the work week...so she got pizza, a cherry coke, and a bag of candy from Candy Craze!

Before the shower! Mitch was there too...but he didn't get in a picture... :-)

The shower had so many perfect details! From the Emmi banner that is now hanging in the nursery...

To the diaper cake that is now displayed in the nursery!

We even had lots of yummy cake, cupcakes, and...

Cookies!!! Are these not the cutest?!

These ladies did such a fabulous job, and I am so lucky to work with them!!! Thanks again Becky, Dre, and Mandy!

Emmi Update- Nursery, 3D US, Bump pics

Emmi is growing and growing these days...as noted by my rather large belly! Poor little girl is probably all cramped in there already. I'm just so short...she doesn't have much room to go these days.

We (ok, Mitch) finally finished painting the nursery! We haven't done much else in there...but we will eventually...
I love how it turned out! We have 3 cream walls and 1 baby pink accent wall that is behind her crib. Her bedding is what I like to call "Country Chic"...it is very feminine and pretty! I love it!

I attended a baby shower a couple of weeks ago for my fellow preggo and dear friend! We are 3 weeks apart and she has been my confidant and rock through this pregnancy! We have discussed it all, let me tell ya!
Can we just pretend that she isn't 3 weeks ahead of me...and so much smaller than me?! Ok, thanks!

We also had Emmi's 3rd trimester ultrasound a few weeks ago. She gave us a little smile...and it just so happened when Luci started talking to her...so sweet!! Emmi looked perfectly healthy and weighed in at 3lb 8oz. My doctor seems to think she will be a little on the small side...so that makes me feel a little better. I get nervous when I think about Mr. 9lb Mitch!!! Yikes!!! She is head down and ready to go...she just needs to bake for a few more weeks!

I absolutely cannot wait to hold our sweet girl!!!

Here are a few bump shots...

Me on the left with Luci at 18 weeks and me on the right with Emmi at 29 weeks!

30 Weeks

30 Weeks...Emmi and her Aunt "Nata"

31 Weeks. Luci loves giving night-night sugars to her Sissy!!

Sometimes after I take bump pics, I just have to remind myself that I can get back to this picture someday! I am so ready to lose some weight! I am not one of those people that feel all glorious and beautiful during pregnancy...let's try blimp! And every single pregnancy symptom or side-effect....just mark me down, because I have them all. For Pete's sake, I am still nauseated a few mornings a week...and I am 32 weeks!
:-)
That being said, I am so thankful and so blessed that I can get pregnant...and that we can get pregnant so easy. I have lots of friends and a Mom who can't or had a hard time, so I do not take my pregnancy for granted one bit! ...but I can still complain a little right?!

I have 2 showers coming up in the next week and I am sooo excited!!! I am trying to kick it into high gear to get ready for our sweet girl!

Mitch's 28th Bday

We celebrated Mitch's birthday last Thursday. He turned 28...knocking right on 30's door!!

Our celebrations were pretty small since his birthday fell during the work week...and he had to go to Little Rock that day for work. After he got home from Little Rock, the 3 of us went out to eat dinner and then came home for cake! Mitch already got his present from us back when we were in Myrtle Beach...a new set of irons!...but Luci and I still got him some cards! Luci picked out a card just for him...that was for an 8 year old! It was cute!

Luci and Daddy with his "28" candles!

Birthday boy then and now! So proud of the husband and father he is! They don't make men like him any better!

We love you!!!

Recap of 4th of July Weekend

We had a GREAT 4th of July weekend. Mitch and I both were off on the 4th, and then we took off the 5th...and of course we were off the 6th and 7th. It was so nice to spend time at home.

We celebrated the 4th with the McFamily. Luci had so much fun playing with C and M! Luci and C went swimming...and then they all came over for a cook-out...and then we went to watch the fireworks! Those girlies are a silly mess!!

Mitch spent most of his time "off" painting the nursery. I spent a lot of time trying to keep Luci entertained and out of the paint! I will post more on that later!

We took Luci to play putt-putt one night! She had a blast!

I will say...I hope Luci listens as intently with driving lessons as she did with her golf lesson. Ahem. Can we say attitude?!

We also took Luci to see Monster's University. I thought the movie was sooo cute! She liked most of it...but got a little nervous during some of the "intense" parts. My poor girl gets scared very easily!

And one night we went and met Kerri and Taylor for some yummy Fuji and Bliss cupcakes!! I didn't get any group shots of us...but I love this pic of Luci! She is getting sooo big!!

And just for fun...all of Luci's 4th of July pics!!!

Love Song for a Savior

"I am a little shy when I pray. It's just because I haven't seen the real Jesus yet...so I don't know what he looks like. Will I get to take all of my toys with me to heaven? How will Jesus make sure I have my toys in heaven? Will everyone be in the same heaven with me?" -Luci

"In open fields of wild flowers
She breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daisies and the roses
In no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all

He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heaven
As close as a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust him and learn how to see him
Someday he'll call her and she will come running
And fall in his arms and the tears will fall down and she'll pray

I want to fall in love with you
I want to fall in love with you
I want to fall in love with you
I want to fall in love with you."

Mini Baby-Moon/Post Anniversary Trip

Last weekend Mitch and I had a little getaway...partly a little baby moon...and partly a little anniversary trip. We were really wanting to go to a Rangers game this year...but since I am in my 3rd trimester and a little sensitive to the heat (ok, a lot), we decided to do the next best thing and go see a Rangers minor league team, Frisco Roughriders, play the Naturals in NWA. This is the 2nd time we have watched them...and this time they did not disappoint! They scored 7 runs in the top of the 9th inning! Plus, the weather was absolutely amazing!!!

We had a lot of fun just being together...just the two of us! Anyone who knows me knows that I don't leave Luci a whole lot...and never more than 24 hours. The first time it will be more than 24 hours at one time will be the birth of Emmi. It's not that I don't believe you should ever leave your child...that is not it at all! I just work all week long...and she is in daycare 10 hours a day...so when the weekends come, that is Momma time!...and  I am greedy!! :-) But, with that being said, being alone with just Mitch and I is important too...so, we try to catch a night here and there when we can!

No overnight trip is without a little drama for us. It seriously happens every. time. Within 2 hours of us dropping Luci off with my Mom, she called and said Luci had thrown up and was running a fever. Mom will keep an eye on Luci during the work week when she is sick...so I wasn't too worried...but we were on alert in case we needed to head back and take her to the doctor. Thankfully it was just a 24 hour thing. Poor Mom! We also had a snafu with our hotel reservation...like they were booked up, and the person that was supposed to be checking out of our room never checked out...but thankfully they moved us to another compatible hotel at no charge!

We truly had the best time...shopping, eating, baseball game...it was fun...and I can't wait until Emmi is old enough for us to have another little getaway!...and who knows...maybe be then, we can do an entire weekend! :-)

8.5 years together, 6 years of marriage, 1 four year old and another on the way...and there is still no one else I would rather be with!!!
