Decorating!

We are gearing up for Halloween and Fall around our house!!! I started pulling out decorations and accumulating some new!!!

My Mom always decorated the house for Halloween and Fall when we were growing up, so I want to do the same for Luci!!! My Nana still decorates for every holiday...4th of July, St. Patty's Day, Valentine's Day...Earth Day...ok, probably not the last one, but Nana really enjoys it!!! I don't have lots of time (or money) for extensive decorating, but it is fun to make the house look a little festive!

San Antonio Trip - Day 5

We got up really early on Saturday and headed out back home. The ride home was pretty uneventful. We made several stops for potty breaks, ate lunch at In-N-Out, and stopped at the Peanut Shop near Durant. Luci again was an angel. I couldn't have asked for her to behave any better. She did sooo great!

Luckily we made it home in time to see the Hogs lose, OU lose, and the Rangers lose. Sigh. Eyeroll. Sigh...Eyeroll...Sigh, again.

We had such a great trip to SA and will definitely go again sometime!!!

San Antonio Trip - Day 4

On Day 4 we decided to take a little road trip away from San Antonio to visit a few stops. At the suggestion of the McCormick's, we drove to New Braunfels to visit the McKenna Children's Museum. Y'all, it was worth every bit of our time. It was the neatest thing I have been to for children in a long time. It was just hands-on, real, imaginative play. Luci had such a blast! During our time there, Luci was a banker, a grocery shopper, a doctor, an astronaut, an artist, a builder...and spent lots of time playing outside!! We could have stayed there for hours, but we only budgeted 2 hours into our day.

After we left McKenna, we drove and got a quick lunch at Jason's Deli...and then...well, we went to the San Marcos outlets! I tried to resist, but I couldn't!! There were over 250 outlet stores just miles away from me and I NEEDED to go shopping! ;-)

After a few hours of walking the malls, we headed back to SA and ate at another restaurant Team McCormick suggested...La Gloria's. It is like street vendor type Mexican food...and y'all, it was delish!!! We all loved it!!

Mom and I found a friend at La Gloria's!

After dinner, we drove around downtown SA for a bit and then headed  back to the condo to pack up to go home the next day.

San Antonio Trip - Day 3

We woke up early on Thursday to head over to the Alamo. Luci wasn't in the best mood when we got there, but warmed up a little later!

This is one of those pics...If looks could kill...Lol! That's life sometimes with a 3 year old folks!

Luci wanted to take a pic! She does a pretty good job!

After checking out the Alamo, we walked over to the Riverwalk and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe...where Luci got several treats!!! She was a little apprehensive at first, but ended up liking the monkey's once we left!

After lunch, we went on a tour of the Riverwalk in a little tour boat! It was a lot of fun and a great way to see  a lot of the Riverwalk at once!

After the tour, we went back to the condo to rest a bit before dinner! We ate at another chain restaurant for dinner...but in our defense, not a restaurant we have locally! I'm sorry, but I just can't resist the Cheesecake Factory!!! We were soooo full when we left!

San Antonio Trip - Day 2

This was our first full day in San Antonio. We slept in just a little and then headed out to the Market Square. We spent the majority of our time walking around checking out all of the interesting souvenirs... We just happen to come across these...and several of you may end up with a set of these as souvenirs!!! I kid, I kid!

Luci and her maracas!!!

After shopping around, we decided to eat lunch at one of San Antonio's most famous restaurants, Mi Tierra's. It was soooo good and probably one of my favorites that we ate at on the trip!!

After lunch, we wandered around the downtown area and checked out a little of the Riverwalk. It started getting really hot, so we headed back to the condo so Luci could nap, and we could get ready to go see the McCormick's!!

We headed out in the late afternoon to go see Ryan, Jill, Kate, and Paige!! We had seen Jill and Ryan a couple of times over the last few years, but the last time we saw Kate and Paige, they were basically babies!!! This was our most exciting part of the trip!! We went to dinner together, came back to eat birthday cake for Ryan's bday, and the girls played together!! Luci can't stop talking about "Kaige"...I guess she is pairing them together like a celebrity couple! Ha!!

When Kate was 2 months old, I "nannied" her for 5 or so weeks before she started day care. I always have said that she was my practice round before Luci!... Although the two really can't be compared...Kate was a saint of a baby while Luci...well, you know... Ha!

It was such a blessing to see them and get to visit together!!! You know true friendship when you haven't seen someone for over half a year and you can just pick back up right where you left off!!!

San Antonio Trip - Day 1

Mitch and I had decided a while back that we wanted to go on a vacation this fall after things had settled down with work and school. We decided on San Antonio for a few reasons, but mainly because we had never been before and it just so happens to be home to some of our great friends, the McCormick's (more on them later!) !!!!

I was a little nervous about this trip since we decided to drive...and Luci has never ridden in a car longer than 5 hours before...and this was going to be a 10 hour trip. Between snacks, DVD's, books, a few toys, and Mimi in the back seat, she did absolutely wonderful!! We stopped every couple of hours for potty breaks and to stretch our legs, and she did just perfect!!

We arrived in SA around 7:30 on Tuesday night...almost there!!

The resort we stayed in had a great view and was just a short walk from the Riverwalk!

Weekend Recap

We had a fun weekend!!!

Friday night, we stayed in and I made a pot of potato soup! It was rainy and dreary so it was just nice to lay on the couch and settle in for the night!

We got up early on Saturday and headed to Broken Arrow to spend the day with Mitch's folks!! Luci had a great time playing with her cousins...I can't say the same about our time spent watching the Hogs lose miserably... Oh well!! Our house is not bandwagon fans!! We will support them no matter what! WPS!!! It was great to catch up with everyone...and of course eat some yummy food!!! :-)

On Sunday, we went to church and then grabbed lunch at Emmy's afterwards. After lunch, we headed home and I took a lonnngggg nap while Mitch watched football and folded laundry! We ate dinner with the Hoskyn's that night...Luci passed out early due to skipping her nap...and Mitch and I started packing for our trip to San Antonio this week!!

More on that to come!!!!

Luci playing dress up in her China Doll dress that K & T brought her back from San Francisco!!!

My lefty magnet from K & T!!! Kerri is a fellow lefty!!! Side bar: I was sooo disappointed when I realized that Luci was not going to be left-handed! lol!

Getting me some baby lovin's!!!

Group shots of the little cousins...I swear it is a comedy routine when we try to get pics of them! I don't think I was successful with one pic!! lol!

I call this pic "Sassy on Sunday"...she must get her sass from her Daddy!!!

Catching up on some reading!

We are ready for 20+ hours of traveling this week!
