Halloween Festivities and Fun-Part Two

Tonight we took Luci and Brendon Trick or Treating in our neighborhood and then headed back to our house to hand out candy for the other Trick or Treaters. Luci wasn't very impressed and Brendon didn't understand why one house might give him 2 handfuls of candy and the next would only give him 1 piece...so after hitting up the block, we turned back home to just hand out candy! Brendon seemed to like that more than Trick or Treating! So glad we had such a fun Halloween!!!!

Getting ready to go Trick or Treating...she is a little unsure!

Halloween Festivities and Fun-Part One

Saturday afternoon, my church in Paris hosted their annual Fall Festival. We took Luci last year, but being 5 months old...she wasn't exactly able to participate in all of the fun activities; however, this year, she had so much fun!! The great thing about the Fall Festival, besides the fact that it is a wonderful ministry, is that everything is free!!!! What better way to spend Halloween Eve than to play games and get all of the free candy and food you want?!! We had a blast!!

~Here is our sweet Minnie Mouse~

Hurry up Daddy!! I'm ready to get to the games!!

She did so good trying out all of the games!!

This is Luci & Brendon this year...(and Ellie in the belly!)

...here they are last year!!

Hopefully next weekend we can get some pics of Luci and all of her girl cousins in their costumes!!! It is always an adventure to get all of the girlies together for pics! Ha! That should be a post of its own!!

~Misc Party Musings~

~We celebrated my mom's 59th birthday last night at our house with Al's BBQ and birthday cake!!! Fun times were had by all!!!

~Luci had her first Fall Party at daycare!! I ordered these awesome cookies from Delightful Bites!!!

Aren't they the cutest?! Kim did such a great job!!!

~This is the only pic I am going to post of Luci's party because all of the other photos have other children in them...Since my blog is public, I am not going to post them here...but if you are my friend on FB, you can check them out there!

For her party, I dressed Luci in her ladybug tutu that our dear friend Alison made for Luci for her first birthday party. The tutu is so cute and I wanted Luci to get another opportunity to wear it and this was the perfect time!!!

~This is just a random photo of Luci getting ready to do her favorite thing in the world right now...play outside!!!

I will post a big Halloween blog after this weekend!! Happy Halloween to all!!

17 Months

Luci is 17 months old today...and to commemorate this special day, she decided to projectile vomit all over me...and the cafeteria...as I was dropping her off this morning at daycare. Ok, I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but she went all excorcist on me...seriously...she almost hit the kids across the table with her vomit. (TMI?...sorry) Anyways, moving on...her is what our precious gal is doing now!!!...

-Running all over the place!! It is hard to keep up!!

-She loves, loves, loves, to: read books, play outside, give high fives, say No, have her paci, play outside, run away from us, play outside, be tickled, singing,...did I mention play outside??

-Words she can say: No, Dada, Momma, Nana (banana), due (blue), lellow (yellow), luh u (love you), tuh u (thank you), pea (please), go, ball, bye-bye, dog, cat, mail...and a whole host of other things we need an interpreter for!!!

-Favorite foods: cheese, bananas, bread, pasta, rice, milk, juice, grapes

Can We Borrow Your Dog?

Our sweet little Luci has inherited my lovely allergies. At the tender age of 11 months, her peditrican already had her on two different types of daily meds in hopes of helping our sick girl...luckily it has worked!! So far in her 2nd year in life she is not near as sick as she was in her first year of life...and we are all so happy! I hate that she is on so many meds...but what are we supposed to do, right?

Well, she is too young to be tested for allergies right now, but just from her being around certain things...we already know certain triggers. Grass and weeds are MAJOR ones...as well as pets. Both sides of our families have cats and poor Luci stays miserable with watery eyes and runny nose when we are there...but we go anyway because we love seeing our family...we just try to limit her exposure to the cats!!

As far as dogs go she hasn't been too horrible around them, but they tend to bother my allergies a bit...so I imagine hers would flare up at some point and time...so...what does that mean for us??? Can we borrow your dog? Yeah, Mitch would love...ok, me too...we would both love a family dog, but I just don't think it is possible right now. I would hate to see our baby girl miserable all the time...but Luci LOVES dogs...I mean seriously LOVES dogs. She can spot a dog from a mile away!! She is a little timid at first, but eventually will jump right in and play!!! So, if anyone wants a 17 month old friend for their furry pet, I know where to find one!!!

We have gone over to the Grounds house and Luci has attempted to play with Maxx...and Kerri brought Spunky over this weekend and Luci and him played like crazy in the backyard. So, I guess our solution to the problem is that we just have doggie playdates instead of a full-time pet...so...Can We Borrow Your Dog?! :-)

A Girl, Her Mom, and Some Mums.

I am known by many for never keeping a plant alive...seriously...it is bad... so it was a scary thought when I came home one day about a month and half ago and proudly proclaimed to Mitch, "I just ordered two large mums!!!" He acted quite surprised, but went along with me to pick out the kinds I wanted...and to load them in the car...because I am not much for getting dirty...that may have something to do with my plants dying...hmm...anyways... They were still green with no blooms when we picked them up, so he ever so politely reminded me (my mom as well) that they needed to be watered everyday. So, I decided this was a project that Luci and I could do together! Every single day after work we would get the watering can and water our precious mums...and finally...after a month and a half...we can proudly say that we have the most gorgeous yellow mums on the block!!! Ok, they may not be prize winning by any means, but we have kept them alive and we have had fun doing it!!!

TA-DA...Here are our Mums!!!!

Wild Things Farm

Today, the Minnick Family, the Texas White's, the Hoskyn's/Clark, and my Mom and Nana ventured out to Oklahoma to go to Wild Things Farm! We all had a really nice time. All of us went on a hay ride and a couple of the others went through the corn maze. I think Luci will have more fun there when she is a little older, but she sure did enjoy herself today! I think her favorite part of the day was getting to see the little piggies!!! Her least favorite part was when the horse came up to her on the hayride (see pic below). She was definitely not sure about that part!! Overall we just had a really fun day! It is so nice getting to see my family from Texas and I am glad that could join us on our "wild" adventure today!!!
