Color Days 2014

Every January Luci's school has a month of "color days". Tuesdays-Fridays the kids are encouraged to wear the color of the day. They try to make several things coordinate with the color of the day...learning, coloring, food, etc. We have a lot of fun with these days, and I try to document these every year, although I think last year was the first year that I blogged about the entire month! (See 2013 here.) We only missed one day this year (white day)!

Red Day!

Green Day! (Mommy coordinated too!)

Yellow Day!

Blue Day! (Lil Sis had to coordinate too!)

Orange Day! (Someone was awfully silly!)

Purple Day!

Brown Day!

Black Day! (She is also showing off her "Share Day" toy too!

Pink Day!

Gray Day!

Weekend Recap- Disney Live and Sickies

We had a sick, but fun weekend. Sometime this fall, Mitch and I purchased tickets for Luci and I to go see Disney Live this weekend...which was featuring Doc, Sofia, and Jake. Well, around Wednesday of this week, both Mitch and I started coming down with the usual cold junk. I missed Thursday of work, he missed half a day Friday, and I am currently home today. Well, Saturday rolled around and we decided we were taking Luci no matter what. She was sooo excited, and we had paid for the tickets...5th row floor tickets mind you! I really felt crummy most of the day (couldn't even enjoy dinner at Cheesecake Factory), but it was so worth it taking her. She had soooo much fun!!! I loved seeing the look on her face as she danced and watched her favorite characters! Mitch met up with his parents, and they (and Emmi) walked around the Home and Garden show while we were at Disney Live. I would say Luci and I got the better end of the deal!!! I even got to meet up for a quick hello with one of my great friends from high-school and her daughter and Mom who were also at the show!

My little Sofia all dressed up and ready to go!

Someone needed a $12 snow cone...at least the souvenir cup came with it! ;-)

Her faces were just priceless when Doc came out!!! (Side Bar: See all of those empty chairs down the row from us...about 2 minutes into Doc is when the rest of the row decided to show up and crawl all over us while blocking Luci's view. Why can't people ever be on time for stuff?!?!?!) Although I think I seemed more upset about it than her. ;-)

We found one of the pirates during intermission!

This girl was such a happy camper during our trip!! I am soooo glad she has gotten so much better in the car!

Well, Sunday afternoon, we went to the walk-in clinic and got some antibiotics for me (sinus infection...of course) and some antibiotics for Luci for a place she has on her arm that needs some attention. Mitch is feeling somewhat better so he decided to wait his out. I felt terrible this morning, but after some more meds and rest...I think I am on the road to recovery!

Please say some prayers for Luci's arm...and for her and Emmi not to get the junk that Mitch and I have.

Weekend Recap

Wow! It has been a while since I have done one of these! We had a great 3 day weekend this past weekend.

Friday night Luci and I went and got our nails done while Daddy and Emmi hung out slept for a bit. On Saturday,we got up early, got the girls ready, and headed out to get some pictures made. I have seen a sneak preview, and I can't wait to get the prints!! After the pics, we headed to Paris where we got to see Presley and Tasha and visit with my parents and Nana! Saturday night we drove over to Ozark to eat at one of my favorite BBQ joints, Rivertowne!

Getting her nails all fancy!

Goofing off with Daddy!

 Dressed up for pictures!

So many things to be said about this picture...but I treasure it anyway!!! :-)

Hello Yum!

On Sunday, Luci and I headed to church while Emmi and Mitch stayed home. Emmi is just not church material these days. That's all I can say. Sunday evening we hosted the Grounds Crew for dinner! It is always fun to catch up with those two!

On Monday, Mitch finally got all of the Christmas decor put back in the attic while I did some inside chores. Luci went out with him and "helped" while Emmi napped. We went to Sam's for lunch and shopping...and then hosted Kerri for dinner later that night!!!

Who says you can't play outside in your p.j.'s?!

She looks so warm and snuggly...I think I might join her!

Sam's Club!

Luci loves her some Sam's pizza!

Happy Birthday To Me!

My birthday was pretty low-key this year, but very special! I started the morning off with a breakfast cupcake that Kerri helped Luci make, mitch ordered our traditonal Bread Box lunch, and then Kerri and I wrapped up the afternoon with mani's and pedi's! I got several fun gifts from friends, lots of phone calls and texts, and of course fb messages!

Luci loved these party hats! Thanks Amanda!

 Snapshot of the day!

We wrapped up the night with dinner out at Rolando's! Becky watched the girlies for us and Taylor and Kerri were our chauffeurs! We ended up ringing the new year in with New York...and then went to bed!

My love!

Rolando's with K & T!!!

The boys splitting their Banana's Foster...weird tradition if you ask me! lol!

2013 on the left/2012 on the right!

I couldn't have asked for a better birthday!

Christmas Break in Branson

We went up to Branson on the 26th and stayed until the 29th. We had lots of fun catching the after Christmas sales, eating, and going to Silver Dollar City! The weather was great, and we were able to be with my parents, my sister and her fam, Mitch's parents, Mandy and her fam, and Renata and her fam!!! Oh, and we spotted all of the Duggar's at SDC! lol!!

Christmas 2013

On Christmas Eve once we got back to FSM, we baked some molasses cookies for Santa, set out chocolate milk, read The Night Before Christmas and The Christmas Story, and tucked Luci and Emmi into bed!

I'm guessing Santa overlooked one of their behaviors this year...

Luci got up bright and early on Christmas morning! We led her and Emmi into the living room so they could see what Santa and Mommy and Daddy had brought them!! Santa brought Luci a changing table for her babies...fully stocked with diapers, wipes, powder, and a diaper stacker that Mimi made, a new baby doll with new accessories, a responsibility chart (so he can make sure she has good behavior all year ;-) ) and stocking stocked full of goodies! Santa brought Emmi a toy for her crib, a new outfit, shoes, and a stocking full of goodies. Mommy and Daddy also had lots of presents for them as well.

Luci had a blast opening presents...and Emmi was a good little girl being entertained by her birds! ;-)

Luci picked out (with Mimi's help) special gifts for Mommy and Daddy!!

Obligatory, sleepy, no-make up, messy hair, Christmas morning pic!

After we finished with the presents, I got started on my dishes to take over for Quinn's for brunch while Luci played with her toys. I made sausage balls, hash brown casserole, and an amazing quiche!!! (That with the biscuits, gravy, bacon, and fruit that Quinn provided...and we had quite the feast!)

We did things a little different this year. We decided to go to Branson right after Christmas, so Mom and Dad brought all of the presents up to Quinn's and we celebrated our Christmas in Fort Smith this year instead of Paris. The kids (ok, the adults too!) had a blast exchanging gifts, relaxing and visiting!!!

PePaw, Mimi, and the Grands!

It was a great Christmas, and Emmi had a great first Christmas!

Luci just loved her Sophia headphones!!!
