Emmi Reese- 2 Months

Emmi turned 2 months old yesterday!!!!

She had her 2 month well-baby check-up and immunizations yesterday...

Stats:

Weight- 11lbs 3oz - 50th percentile & Length-22 inches- 50th percentile
I really expected her to be in a higher percentile because she is getting so many squishy leg rolls! They are the cutest!

Facts:

She has moved in to size one diapers and 0-3 month clothes.

She is eating 3.5-4.5 ounces every 3 hours...she is making it about 5 hours at night.

It still takes her forever to finally settle down for the night...we are generally up until midnight...and then back up at 4:30-5:30. Fun.

She has started smiling..and cooing just a little. My heart just melts!

She started her first day of school yesterday.

So, Emmi has her official first nickname. My family is oddly into nicknames. Luci has been called everything under the sun...we are just silly folk! :-) But, her official nickname when she was a baby was "Luci Bug"...so, we had to come up with Emmi's own official nickname. "Emmi Reese Cup." I started calling her that earlier this month...and it just stuck!!!

Emmi Reese Cup

Someone is mad that Mommy won't let her have a Reese Cup to eat!!! :-)

Likes: bathtime, her bottles, snuggling, her swing

Dislikes: her car-seat and riding in the car, being burped when she is hungry, wet diapers,

Some pics for this month...

Thursday and Friday Fun- Razorbacks, Dentist, Pumpkins

Mitch took off a few days for part of last week and this week. I go back to work in 2 weeks, so we wanted to try to get in some family time before the ole work routines start again.

On Thursday at Luci's school was sport team day! Luci was so excited to wear her Razorback cheerleading uniform (we still proudly support our Hogs!)!

She went for the first part of the day until Mitch was out of a meeting and then the three of us went to her dental appointment (Mimi watched Emmi). Luci doesn't have a great track record at the dentist. She usually cries and/or screams during the teeth cleaning. She is always fine for the dentist, but hates the cleaning part. Well, we had a long talk before this appointment. I explained to her that she knows what to expect now that this is her 3rd appointment...she knows it doesn't hurt...Mommy and Daddy will both be with her the entire time...so, I expect her to be a big girl and act like it! Well, she did great! Absolutely fantastic! The dentist said "this would be the best set of teeth he had seen all day"..."teeth looked pristine"...and "we were doing an excellent job!" Those comments made for a very happy Mommy and Daddy!!

She did soooo great! She still needed to hold Daddy's hand though! :-)

How do we celebrate a good dental appointment? With ice cream of course!! :-) I posted this pic on FB and lots of people said she looked so old. She does...but she is still my 4 year old baby...sniff sniff.

On Friday, Luci stayed home from school, and we made a trip out to Wild Things Farm. It was a nice day and not very crowded. Emmi slept the entire time, but we still got some fun pics!

Luci picked out pumpkins for her and Emmi! Emmi was so stoked! lol!

She loved feeding the goats!

Emmi- Your First Month

Emmi,

Your first month was a whirl wind...and in normal fashion, flew by for Mommy and Daddy. What kind of things happened your first month...

You came home from the hospital on September 1. We were a little late leaving that day because you were a little jaundice, and we had to do some additional testing.

Before we got ready to leave the hospital, you spit up all over Daddy's OU shirt...We think it is a sign! hehe!

Your sister, Grammy, and Granddaddy were at our house to greet us when we got home!

You had a weight and jaundice check at the doctor on September 3rd. You weighed 6lbs 9oz and were 19 1/2 inch long. You lost quite a bit of weight and lost length due to your cone head at birth :-). We began supplementing even more with soy formula because you were projectile spitting up breast milk. We began to realize that you were just like your sister (and Mommy when she was a baby) with your dairy intolerance. We switched you exclusively to soy formula at the end of 6 days old. Your jaundice had gotten a little worse, but wasn't bad enough for hospitalization! We were so happy!

You had soo many visitors that came to see you in the hospital and at our house. I am going to try to list them all! ( Note for readers: If I forgot you, please message me so I can add it to the blog. The first month was a blur!)
Mimi, PePaw, Grammy, Granddaddy, Quinn, Mark, Brendon, Ellie, Kerri, Taylor, Tasha, Misty, Maddie, Jordan, Amanda Sh., Charlotte, Becky, Amanda Sm., Megan, Renata, Nana, Jathan, Jocelyn, Sam, Kristal, Zach, Sarah, Alan, Lidya, Meri, Alyson, Mandy K., Lawson, Ken, Sandy, Katie, Jennifer, Caroline, Linda...

We had your newborn pictures made with Mrs. Jessica! You did super...and only pottied on her once! :-)

You had your two week check-up and had gained back up to your birth weight plus one ounce! You weighed in at 7lb 2oz. You were still 19 1/2 inch long.

You ate 2-3.5 ounces this month every 2-4 hours. Newborn diapers. Newborn size clothes. You are a pretty good baby. You like your bath. You like to sleep. You love to pout out your bottom lip. You love to be held! You usually take several baths a day because you are our spit-up queen! You are a "happy" spit-upper (meaning you aren't screaming or in pain at this point), so we just make sure to have lots of bibs and burp rags on hand! Mommy does sooooo much laundry!

Nicknames...Em's, Sis, Sister, Sissy, Lil Sis

We love you Emmi Reese!!! You have completed our family in the most perfect way!!! Mommy, Daddy, and Luci are just crazy about you!!!!

Here are a bunch of pics from our first month!!!!
